This is the original of noisy old recordings I put together in 1990. Recorded "sound on sound," meaning I usually recorded the main guitar part and lead vocal to to a reel-to-reel deck, then reroute that deck through one of the three inputs on my old tape echo machine that served as my mixer and into a cassette deck. The remaining two channels were now the inputs for another guitar part and a harmony vocal, or percussion, etc... It was all or nothing. If I bungled anything on these subsequent bounces, I either had to decide if I could live with it, or take another run at it. Needless to say, this was a very slow, laborious and frustrating way to go about it, and each new pass introduced yet another layer of noise and tape hiss. Kind of a miracle it worked at all! This is also the tape I mailed to Dan Fogelberg at his Mountain Bird Studio in Colorado sometime in late 1990.
