Once upon a time, in late 1990/early 1991, I worked up the unmitigated gall to sent a cassette of six of my songs, aptly named “Six Songs” to Dan Fogelberg asking if he would consider producing an album with me. This is the letter I received from Dan while I was still in the hospital recovering from my second kidney transplant in February, 1991.
It reads, “Thank you for your tape and material. Unfortunately, I am not available to produce other artists as my own recording career takes up all of my time. I am also not soliciting outside material as my bread & butter is songwriting. I wish you the best of luck with your music.
Dan Fogelberg “
Best blow off EVER! My personal hero in these pursuits did me an heroic solid that day. It truly sped up my recovery time and still makes me smile to this day.
