I came across some embarrassing old stuff this morning, so I thought I’d share. 
Ok, technically this wasn’t my first paid gig, but it was the first gig I played as a solo singer/songwriter. It was also the first time I played any of my original songs (they were pretty lame, actually). But yeah… I remember thinking I was pretty hot stuff. 
This was in 1986 at the coffee shop in the student union at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois… about four previous lifetimes ago!
